After final I immediately jetted off to Wisconsin for two and a half weeks where I trained new hires for my company. I then returned to a complete family at home for the first time in five months. Been having so much fun with my sisters! It's not going to last much longer though because on July 22 I'll be taking off to Texas to do more training through October 1. By the time I return, one of my sisters will be back at her university in Washington. Sigh. So we're making the time we have together last. Our next big event is Anime Expo in LA on Friday. I believe Ashley and I are recycling our Mabel and Dipper cosplays from Emerald City Comic Con. Should be interesting at the very least, I'm not the biggest anime fan to be honest.
Coming up after that is the ultimate nerd event, San Diego Comic Con. My sister Ashley has been working on my cosplays for the last two days and is even making a costume for my friend who commissioned her. My cosplays this year are Formal!Aya, Deandra from the Youtube series The Most Popular Girls in School with Hayley as Trisha, and DisneyBound Phineas complete with Perry plush, pencil, and blueprint if I can actually find a blueprint that is blue (now I have the song stuck in my head). I'll be going all four days and cannot wait for the panel schedule to come out. There are a multitude of panels I want to go to and I hope there aren't many tough decisions that need to be made this year!
On the creative end, I've gotten back to drawing and nearly have my first completed sketch book ever. Weird. I've never done that before. It spans January 2012 to now, and there is some improvement evident throughout the sketch book. I've also been writing more, especially since a certain someone keeps nagging me to work on Imaginary. Heh. I've hit a wee bit of a stumbling point with that, but I'll get over it soon. I also have been toying more with Icebound and actually came up with a new story idea this morning while watching Enchanted with my sisters. It's actually turning more into a collaboration with my sisters since we keep bouncing ideas off of each other and seem relatively on the same page with the story, or at least eventually loving the new contribution. The characters don't even have names yet! I will be taking up the 30 days of writing challenge again too as it seems to be helping with fleshing out the three aforementioned stories.
That's all I've got for now. Bummed I missed out on the HA! meet up, but with unreliable brakes and familial responsibilities, it just didn't make sense to drive two hours for the event. I apologize for not going, but family and home first peeps. Plus my own safety with the car! If you're at AX on Friday, say hi! I'll be wandering about as Mabel from the episode "Double Dipper". Stay cool, kids.
